When it comes to art, The MAD Sketchist is anything but mad. Read on about this blogger’s journey and her reasons why she chose to create a blog.
Why did you decided to name your blog “The MAD Sketchist”?
Haha! Long Story! To make it short I’ve been in search for a “logo” for…
“Nader Gator” is a nickname given to my mother from yours truly. Ma’s name has always been tough to pronounce, tough even for fluent Spanish speakers.
Give it a try: Oneida
People will pronounce the “d” like a “th” sound which isn’t correct.
Though I think I can pronounce it now it’s still a chore so I began playing with her name. Starting with “O-ni-da” to “O-nay-da” to “O-nay-der” and to finally “Nay-der” which is spelled “Nader.”
After it stuck I started rhyming with it, when I’d say goodbye it’d come out as: “Later Nader” and just being playful I’d call her “Nader Gator” or just stick it all together and be like “Later, Nader Gator!”
Hahaha!
So the day came. I asked myself “What would the Nader Gator look like?” It’d had to obviously be an alligator with my mother’s characteristics [“chanclas” included]. It also had to be cute and a tad humorous.
So here she is at last. The Nader Gator

Got these suckers yesterday. Played with them for the first time and fell in love. Can’t wait to start using the 005 for SUPER detail. Need more practice with them :).

Another quickly whipped up strip I had stuck in my brain. Realized I made it too big …That’s what she said ;)
